post-doc
Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences, Italy
Federica Nardi is a post-doctoral researcher at Toscana Life Sciences in Siena. In 2018 she was awarded her doctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her main focus was on the characterization of proteins involved in angiogenesis. Before graduating, she spent six months as a visiting researcher at PHILOCHEM using phage display technology to select antibodies against antigens involved in tumorigenesis. After she completed her PhD, she was granted the opportunity to work at the National Cancer Institute in Aviano to study the mechanisms underpinning the malignant evolution of gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Then, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in a project centred on characterizing mutations involved in retinitis pigmentosa, a disorder of the retina that leads to progressive blindness. She is currently working in a laboratory at Toscana Life Sciences under Professor Anna Kabanova where she is involved in a project funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research in order to understand tumour suppression mechanisms in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).
