From 2014, I have been studying molecular pathogenesis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). I described how CLL B cells evade killing by cytotoxic T cells (Cell Reports 2016, Science Signaling 2020) and how inhibitory receptors modulate their signaling (Blood 2017). Now I am particularly fascinated with one of the unexplored sides of the CLL, its frequently indolent nature and molecular basis underlying it. I am addressing this gap with my expertise in gene editing and expression in hard- to-manipulate primary tumor cells, study of organelle biology, -OMICS technologies, and bioinformatics.
