Columbus, Ohio, United States
Dr Woyach is a tenured Professor at The Ohio State University, where she directs the Division of Hematology. She also serves as co-Leader of the Leukemia and Hematologic Malignancy Research Program within the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is a clinical and translational researcher with a focus on novel therapies for chronic lymphocytic leukemia and strategies to overcome resistance to novel therapies. She is principal investigator of multiple early-stage clinical trials investigating novel targeted therapies for CLL and other hematologic malignancies, and also mentors junior faculty members in the development and conduct of Phase I studies. She chaired the intergroup Phase III study A041202 which investigated chemoimmunotherapy versus targeted therapy as initial therapy for older adults with CLL, and A041702 which investigated continuous versus intermittent targeted therapy in the same patient population. These studies were performed in the context of her role as a member of the Leukemia and Cancer in the Elderly Committees of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and co-leader of the CLL disease group in the Leukemia Committee. Her laboratory research focuses on resistance to targeted therapies in CLL, and identification of novel therapies for CLL that can be brought to the clinic.
